Trine IT Services is using a new computer vulnerability patching and updating system called Automox. This new system also allows IT Services a new way to remotely connect to your computer without accessing the VPN. You will receive updates and patches to your computer through Automox each month. Prior to deploying updates to all departments, I'll be sending patches to your system prior to scheduled maintenance announced through the Trine Line each month.
After the updates are pushed to your computer you will see a notification similar to this:
Note: You will have the ability to delay installation by choosing the time delay from the drop down, or 'Install now' (without delay). You are limited to delaying the installation to only two times. If you miss/ignore the notification, the system will automatically delay the install for 4 hours (and this counts as one of your 'delays').
After exhausting your allotted delay(s) or delay notifications are ignored, when a restart is approaching, a notification similar to the below will be sent:
Much like the installation delay options, we have configured the 'Restart' notification to also allow delays - not shown in the screenshot (for added user flexibility). You are also limited to delaying your system restart by only two times. If you miss/ignore the notification, the system will automatically delay the restart for 4 hours (and this counts as one of your 'delays').
If your system misses the scheduled update time, Automox will proceed with the patching process the next time your system checks in to the platform.
